Neti Pot
Neti pot: natural solution for improving breathing
The neti pot is an ancient tool that originates from Ayurveda and is used for rinsing the nasal passages. This small but highly effective tool helps remove mucus, allergens, and other impurities from the nasal passages, which can improve breathing, reduce symptoms of colds, sinusitis, or allergies, and contribute to overall respiratory health.
How to use the neti pot:
-
Prepare the solution: The first step in using the neti pot is to prepare the appropriate solution. Mix warm water with salt – we recommend about 1 teaspoon of salt per half liter of water. It is important to use distilled, sterile, or previously boiled water to prevent potential infections.
-
Fill the neti pot: Next, pour the prepared saline solution into the neti pot. Be careful not to overfill it, as you need enough solution to rinse both nostrils.
-
Nasal rinse: Tilt your head to the side over a sink or basin. Insert the spout of the neti pot into the upper nostril and slowly pour the solution. The liquid will flow through the nasal cavity and exit through the lower nostril. It is important to breathe through your mouth, not your nose, while performing the process.
-
Repeat on the other nostril: Repeat the process on the other nostril by tilting your head to the opposite side and inserting the spout of the neti pot into the other nostril.
-
Dry your nose: After rinsing, gently blow your nose to remove any remaining solution and mucus that has been flushed out of the nasal passages. This will help prevent any fluid from remaining in the sinuses and provide a feeling of cleanliness.
Why use the neti pot?
Regular rinsing of the nasal passages with the neti pot offers numerous benefits. This simple but effective tool helps remove mucus, bacteria, viruses, and allergens from the nasal passages, which can reduce the risk of infections and improve breathing. It is especially beneficial during seasonal allergies, colds, and in humid climates for maintaining healthy airways.
Neti pot and health:
Excess mucus in the nasal passages can cause discomfort and disrupt breathing. Using the neti pot can effectively address this problem. Regular nasal rinsing helps clean the nose of impurities and reduces symptoms such as a blocked nose, burning sensations, or sinus pain. This is especially helpful for those suffering from allergies, colds, or chronic sinus problems.
Additionally, using the neti pot is a natural and affordable method to improve respiratory health, without the use of chemical medications. By maintaining a proper diet that helps break down mucus (such as foods rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants) and regularly cleaning the nasal passages, we can significantly improve our overall health and well-being.
Why the neti pot is the ideal choice:
- A natural solution without chemicals, enabling effective cleaning of the nasal passages.
- Helps remove mucus, allergens, and other harmful substances that affect respiratory health.
- Easy to use, allowing it to be easily incorporated into your daily routine.
- Useful for prevention and for relieving symptoms of colds, allergies, and blocked sinuses.
- A safe and effective method to improve breathing and respiratory health.
