- When first unpacked, the mat may have a light rubber scent, which naturally fades with time and air exposure. Before first use, allow the mat to air out overnight in a dry, well-ventilated space.
- Always wash your hands with soap and water before practice. Natural skin oils, hand creams, or lotions can reduce grip and lead to slipping.
- Latex rubber reacts to environmental conditions. Prolonged exposure to light and humidity may cause slight color changes or fine white residue on the surface. This is a natural process and can be addressed with proper care.
- Practising alternately on both sides of the mat helps distribute wear evenly and extends the lifespan of your GECO Lite.
Storage
- After practice, always roll the mat with the top surface (logo side) facing outward.
- Store the rolled mat in a yoga mat bag, away from direct or indirect sunlight. Reduced light exposure helps preserve the material over time.
Cleaning
- After each practice, simply wipe the surface with a slightly damp cloth and leave the mat lying flat to dry.
- For occasional deeper cleaning, use a mild, natural soap or detergent, avoiding solvents and abrasive cleaners.
- Avoid the logo area to prevent unnecessary wear.
- Wipe again with clean water and allow the mat to dry completely.
